It’s hard to believe it has only been a little over a year since news of COVID-19 first hit America’s shores and began what has been one of the longest and most controversial periods of time in our nation’s history. What with all that’s gone on, between the massive number of protests, the pandemic shutdowns, and a presidential election like none other, one would think it’s been at least four years since our country saw “normal.”
But only a year it has been.
And throughout it all, we have heard two vastly different stories.
As you well know, one spoke of the pandemic in realistic terms, saying that while it would be difficult, we would get through it. President Donald Trump and his administration forever kept a cool head, letting America know that plans were being made to overcome the sometimes-deadly disease and that within a relatively short amount of time, we would all see the light of day again.
The Democratic Party, led by now-President Joe Biden and his liberal cohorts, on the other hand, told us something altogether different. Instead of a message of hope and prosperity, they resorted to spreading fear.
Through liberal leaders, Americans have learned what it is like to be without. We have been without jobs, without family, without income, and without a social life. For far too many months, we have been locked in our homes, banned from eating out, prohibited from seeing our favorite people, and forced to wear face masks, no matter how ineffective they have proved to be.
It’s enough to drive just about anyone nuts.
Thankfully, Trump’s calm and hope-filled voice has seemed to speak life back into the hollow shells our lives have become.
Early on, he promised to put every effort into getting a viable vaccine for the virus out to the American people.
Of course, he was mocked by the left and their propaganda wing, also known as mainstream media. When he told us in September that we would every American would have access to the vaccine as early as April, the press pretty much laughed in his face.
CNN reported on September 18, “Trump says every American can get a coronavirus vaccine by April, but health experts say that’s not likely.”
The Washington Post made a similar statement, saying, “Trump says, without evidence, every American will get coronavirus vaccine by April.”
And The New York Times, not to be left out, made sure to put their two cents in, using a headline reading, “Top U.S. Health Officials Tiptoe Around Trump’s Vaccine Timeline.”
They wrote Trump and his vaccine plans off as not only far too ambitious but outright crazy. It was to be just another of his supposed lies.
And yet, here we are, in April, and now-President Joe Biden has just announced that vaccines are now available to ALL Americans.
According to The Washington Post and a Tuesday announcement by the Biden administration, “any adult in any state will be able to get a COVID-19 vaccination by April 19.”
Naturally, all the credit is being given to Biden and not Trump.
They have seemingly forgotten about Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed,” which was started in September of last year, and whose sole purpose was to make sure a successful vaccine for the novel illness was created in record time and immediately made available to Americans.
They have forgotten that it was under Trump, not Biden or ever Dr. Fauci’s, continuous pressure to do so, that vaccine was found and duplicated. According to The Wall Street Journal, by December, a mere three months later, the first vaccines were being distributed to US citizens.
Instead, they would rather parade Biden around as the savior of the nation, refusing to accept the fact that Donald Trump was once again correct. Biden is even using pretty much the exact same timeline and roll-out plans as Trump implemented. And yet, they are still unwilling to give the former president even the slightest shred of credit.
Of course, Trump didn’t do it for the recognition it could bring him, just like he didn’t become president to get rich.
