Oh the Hypocrisy: Goodyear Bans All Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter and MAGA but BLM Is Ok

Goodyear’s diversity training course is headed in a crazy direction and if you don’t believe us, take a look at the slide. Any attire that promotes Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA or any political affiliation is not considered to be acceptable. BLM and LGBT pride related attire remains perfectly acceptable, though.

This slide has leaked to the public and shows exactly where Goodyear stands on the current issues. They have zero tolerance for any support of the police or the current president. If you have conservative values of any kind, they cannot be displayed here. A WIBW report claims that the slide came from a Topeka plant. An area manager is said to have been responsible.

Obviously, the corporate office in Akron, Ohio is responsible for this as well. No slide like this would have been made without corporate input. This is the sort of thing that a company does when they are looking to shield themselves from lawsuits. All it takes is one complaint from an employee to bankrupt the whole organization, especially in these types of instances.

A Goodyear employee spoke about the situation under the condition of anonymity. “If someone wants to wear a BLM shirt in here, then cool. I’m not going to get offended about it. But at the same time, if someone’s not going to be able to wear something that is politically based, even in the farthest stretch of the imagination, that’s discriminatory,” they told WIBW.

“If we’re talking about equality, then it needs to be equality. If not, it’s discrimination,” the employee continued. When the station inquired as to whether the slide was handed down from the company’s main office, there was no response. Instead, Goodyear offered up an explanation that is not going to make much sense to the average conservative.

Any associates that wish to stand in solidarity with those who are experiencing racial injustice are supported. Any advocacy that does not fall within the scope of issues that are related to inequality is not tolerated. The company is definitely going to confuse a large number of employees with this type of messaging. They’re going to be hit with a lawsuit one way or the other. The company did issue a statement on the matter.

“Goodyear is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace where all of our associates can do their best in a spirit of teamwork. As part of this commitment, we do allow our associates to express their support on racial injustice and other equity issues but ask that they refrain from workplace expressions, verbal or otherwise, in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party as well as other similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of equity issues,” the statement reads.

It’s every bit as noncommittal as you would expect. They’re not going to come right out and say “no MAGA hats allowed” in this kind of statement but they are doing everything they can to discourage it. Eventually, someone is going to test the boundaries. If they are sent home from work for wearing any sort of All Lives Matter or Blue Lives Matter gear, it will speak volumes.

Goodyear is taking a major risk by stepping out in front of the controversy like this. They are gambling on the idea that people will still purchase their tires, even after they have essentially told Trump supporters to take a long walk off a short pier. When everyone starts making the switch to Cooper tires, we hope that they don’t feign shock.

Americans are going to be making more and more purchasing decisions of this nature going forward. If conservative thinkers are going to be told that their dollars do not matter, they are simply going to end up taking them elsewhere. We just hope that the Goodyear company is prepared for the mass exodus that is about to take place.
